What Is Fiscal Cash Register (ÖKC) Integration? Is It Mandatory, and Who Gets Paid the Fee?
5-minute read · Prepared by the Orderly team
What is fiscal register integration?
Fiscal cash register (officially a fiscal payment device, or ÖKC for short) integration means connecting your POS software to your fiscal register. With the integration in place, the cashier doesn't key the bill total into the register by hand. The bill goes to the device automatically with its items and VAT details, and when payment is completed on the device, the bill closes in the software automatically.
What happens if you work without integration?
Without integration, two separate steps are needed: first the bill is closed in the POS software, then the same amount is entered into the fiscal register by hand. This causes two problems:
- Amount errors. At busy times, an amount keyed in by hand can be entered incorrectly; at the end of the day, the till and the software don't match.
- Lost time. The same information is processed twice for every payment.
Is using a fiscal cash register mandatory?
For businesses making retail sales, using a fiscal payment device is a legal requirement, and this applies regardless of which POS software you use. The integration itself, however, is not mandatory — you can use your device and your software separately. Integration is chosen to reduce the margin for error and the workload.
Why is the integration fee paid to the device company?
ÖKCs are fiscal devices; external software connects to them through the official connection channel provided by the device manufacturer. The manufacturer sets an annual usage fee for this channel. That's why the integration fee is paid not to the POS software company but to the device manufacturer.
The devices Orderly is compatible with and the manufacturers' current annual fees are as follows (per device):
- Beko X30 TR — 6,000 ₺ / year
- Ingenico (all models) — 7,000 ₺ / year
- PAX A910SF — 7,000 ₺ / year
We state these amounts clearly before you buy, so you won't run into a surprise charge later. No separate payment is made to Orderly for the integration.
What works once the integration is set up?
- The bill goes to the device item by item, with its VAT breakdown
- The bill closes automatically when payment is completed
- In businesses with two tills, each till gets its own device
- Open bills are synced with the device in the background
