Promotions & Discount Management

Set up the promotion once, and let the till handle the rest

Filling the quiet afternoon hours, selling more desserts at the weekend, a small thank-you for customers who order via QR… In Orderly, you set up a promotion once, and it kicks in on its own on the right day at the right time — at the table, for takeaway, for delivery and on the QR menu. Waiters don't have to remember it, and cashiers don't have to enter discounts by hand.

Pick a template, answer three questions

No rules to write. You pick one of the ready-made templates, and three questions follow: what it applies to, when it's valid, and how much the discount is. As you make your choices, a summary of the promotion appears on screen as a plain sentence, so you read what you've set up before saving. If you like, you can leave it as a draft and put it live when you're ready.

  • Happy Hour: a discount on the items you choose at set times
  • Deal of the Day: across the whole menu or in a single category
  • Buy 2 Pay for 1: you set the quantities, and you decide whether the free item is the cheapest or the most expensive
  • Basket Discount: an amount or percentage off once the bill passes a set total
  • Fixed Price: for example, “lunch menu 250 ₺”
  • Amount Off per Item: for example, “20 ₺ off every pizza”
  • Channel-Specific: a discount valid only for QR orders, or only for delivery

Which days, which hours, which dates

You set the promotion's calendar. Every day, weekdays only, weekends only, or the days you pick one by one. All day or a set time window, with ready-made windows such as breakfast, lunch and evening. Hours that run past midnight are no problem: a late-night promotion that starts at 10 pm and ends at 2 am works too. Give it a start and end date and the promotion opens on the first day and closes on the last; leave the dates empty and it runs until you stop it.

  • Any days you like, Monday to Sunday
  • Breakfast, lunch, happy hour, evening, late night, or your own time window
  • Date-based promotions, such as Mother's Day week or Valentine's Day
  • Starts on its own when the time comes, ends on its own when it's over

Which items, which channel

A promotion can apply to the whole menu, to the categories you choose, or to items you pick one by one. You can add exceptions too, like “10% off the whole menu, except alcoholic drinks”. You also choose separately where it's valid: table service, takeaway, delivery, the QR menu and delivery orders placed via QR. The same promotion works on orders entered from the waiter app, too. Promotions don't apply to orders from food delivery platforms; the discount on those orders already comes from the platform, so a second discount is never stacked on top.

Keep discounts under your control

You can put limits on every promotion: the bill must be at least a certain amount, a single bill can get at most a certain discount, and “buy 2 pay for 1” repeats at most so many times on the same bill. If a table orders ten teas and five of them go free, that's your decision, not a surprise from the system.

  • Minimum bill amount
  • Discount cap per bill
  • Repeat limit for promotions like buy 2 pay for 1
  • Extras and portion upcharges included in or excluded from the discount
  • Two promotions that hit the same item don't stack; overlaps are flagged in the list

Waiters and customers both see the discount

A promoted item appears on the bill and on the payment screen with its old price struck through and the promotion's name. The name you give the promotion is printed on the receipt as well. On the QR menu, promoted items carry a badge, and customers see the discount in their basket. When you move a table, merge tables or split a bill, the discount isn't lost.

Know how much you're giving away

The promotions screen is split into three: running now, scheduled and ended. Each promotion's card shows how many times it was applied today and how much discount it gave. The promotion report shows the number of bills with a promotion, the total discount, the average per bill and a breakdown by channel; at end of day, the promotion discount appears as a separate line. If something goes wrong, the Stop All button switches every promotion off with a single tap.

Frequently asked

About Promotions & Discount Management

No. If you've set days, times and dates, the promotion kicks in on its own during that window and stops when it's over. You can pause it with one tap at any moment and put it live again later.

No. On orders from food delivery platforms, the discount comes from the platform itself; Orderly doesn't add its own promotion to those orders. That way there's no double discount, and your numbers match the platform's.

Two item promotions are never applied to the same item at once; the one with priority wins. Overlapping promotions are flagged in the list, so you can see which one applies. A basket discount is a separate type, though; it can be applied on top of an item discount.

No. From the head office account, you send the promotion to the branches you choose in one go. You decide whether a branch can only switch it on and off, adjust it to suit itself, or not touch it at all.

No. Promotions and discount management are included in the annual license; they aren't sold as a separate module.
