Enter the invoice, let the system work out the cost
In many systems, costs are entered by hand. When prices are rising, nobody can update the cost of every ingredient one by one — and in the end the profit margin lies. In Orderly, the only thing you do is enter your purchase invoices.
One invoice, three actions
You enter the invoice once: the expense is recorded, stock increases, the unit cost is recalculated. No more writing the same data in three places.

Weighted average cost
Your cost is based on the weighted average of the stock you hold, not the last invoice. While goods you bought cheaply are still in your storeroom, an expensive last invoice doesn't drag the whole cost up — you see the real picture.
Recipe costs update themselves
When an ingredient's unit cost changes, the cost of every recipe that uses it updates automatically. No need to go through a hundred-item menu one by one.

Your whole menu in one table
The Recipe Cost Management screen shows each product's selling price, recipe cost, profit amount, profit margin and last calculation time in a single table. You can recalculate every recipe cost with one click.
Profitability: commissions and VAT included
The finance report takes revenue, supply costs, operating expenses, payment commissions and net VAT into account to give you gross and net profit margins. Few systems include commissions and VAT in profit; the answer to “sales are good but where's the money?” is usually here.

About Automatic Costing & Profitability
The weighted average method. When a new invoice is entered, the existing stock quantity and cost are combined with the new purchase. This is the right method for restaurants, where batches of ingredients physically mix anyway.
No. When you enter the purchase invoice, the cost of every recipe that uses that ingredient updates automatically.
Yes. You define a separate commission rate for each payment method, and it feeds into the profitability report. Net VAT is accounted for as well.
